A molecule that has an equal distribution of bonding electrons across it and possesses no partial positive or negative charges. Nonpolar molecules are formed by nonpolar covalent bonds or when polar covalent bonds result in a symmetric distribution of electrical charge, the configuration + - - + for example. Compare to polar covalent molecule.
