Natural Science 107 has 2 components, lecture and laboratory. The lecture introduces you to the scientific concepts and principles, while the lab affords you the opportunity to employ them. Successful completion of this course requires regular attendance and participation in lecture AND lab. Natural Science is a hybrid of several scientific disciplines, including biology, chemistry, astronomy, earth science and others.

GRADES:

LECTURE: 65% OF FINAL GRADE
Exam 1: 20%
Exam 2: 20%
Exam 3: 25%

LAB: 35% OF FINAL GRADE
Quiz 1: 10%
Quiz 2: 10%
Writing: 10%
Attendance: 5%
NOTE: Attendance is a minor component of the grade. Your participation and performance on the exams and the paper determine your final grade.

NO EXTRA CREDIT: Except for the extra credit questions on the exams, there are no other extra credit options, so plan accordingly to fulfill the obligations of the course.

The quizzes and exams are not cumulative, nor are they departmental exams.
