Anticuerpo

[sujeto]

A Y-shaped protein molecule that is produced by the immune system in response to infection by an antigen. Different antigens provoke the production of different antibodies. Antibodies fight disease by attaching themselves to antigens, destroying them or surrounding them so that they cannot attack the body.
